Beaches and Beach Bars in Santorini

Santorini beaches according to region:

Akrotiri beaches: 

Red beach is located near Akrotiri village towards the Excavations of Archaelogical site of Akrotiri. For nice inexpensive fish and local specialties try Dolphins Tavern 100m from the red beach. There is no more suitable ending of your day at the beach with a fresh fish.

Remember to take some athletic shoes with you since just before the red beach there is a small rocky path you need to walk through. Also, as you can imagine by the name of that beach it consists of big and small red rocks ideal for photos, but less organized and less tourists in relation to other beaches.

White beach is located also near akrotiri village, but you need to take a small boat to visit it.

Perivolos beach is the biggest of Santorini island, and is the so called Black beach. Driving from Fira is about 15min. and from Oia village like an hour! Crystal water and a lot of beach bars in front of the sea either with dancing music or chill out music and sunbeds.

Perivolos famous beach bars are Chilli, JOJO (these two are right next to each other), Wet Stories beach bar, Sea Side and others.

If you want more fun, louder music then definetely Chilli or JoJo will maych these criteria. 

For something in the middle try Wet Stories, and more even more relaxing and chill out music Sea Side.

All of them serve also food, while Sea side has a restaurant beachfront with good quality by there chef, but a little pricy.

Important: Also perivolos is quite rocky beach, but match smaller rocks. Ok, just to let you know there is no sandy beach in Santorini, but everyone can imagine it since it’s a Volcanic island, which took each last shape a few hundrends years ago after the volcano eruption.

Perissa beach is just after Perivolos beach with some hotels, camping, beach bars, and taverns.

Kamari beach, imagine a road of about 1km with hotels, taverns, and shopping and opposite to these is the beach.

Monolithos beach is much more quite but personaly didn’t like it.

Vlychada beach if you are driving from Fira to perivolos beach is about 1km before perivolos beach (turn right to the sign and afterwards you follow the sandy road).

There you will find one nice beach bar called Theros. Also rocky, but with a pair of sandals issue solved. 

Tip:At Theros there are every month some nice full moon parties with live band music.
